Lovely Lace

Gothic Black Lace Headband, made with upcycled vintage lace.

So November’s been and gone, and I appear to have taken a little holiday from blogging. Oops. This may have something to do with all the lace that’s found its way into my sewing stash. To write, or to play with lace? That is the question.

I’ve been playing mainly with black lace, as it suits the time of year and goes very nicely with plaid (which, conveniently, I also like very much).

I’ve enjoyed stitching mostly by hand, instead of relying on the machine. There’s a lovely, peaceful rhythm to hand-stitching, and the resulting look and feel is just that bit more special.

And there’s still a lot more lace to go – especially white lace. I think some of it would go quite nicely with plaid.

Fun with plaid and lace.

To write, or to play with lace? This month, I’ll try both.
